The events of recent months have taken a terrible toll on millions of people.
Death at the hands of the CCP virus, has caused incredible suffering to thousands upon thousands of families. Loss of income from the national shutdown has placed distress on people that could not have been imagined just six months ago.
The forsaking of liberty in the guise of safety has its own painful grip on millions of citizens.
Couple all of this to the now insane riots and civil unrest spawned by the brutal killing of George Floyd. The rightful indignation felt by most has been hijacked by radical anarchists. Marxist who wish to see America destroyed. They have said as much.
It is rightfully believed that we are on the ‘eve of destruction’.
The election is just over one hundred days away. The temperature of our collective moods is at a boiling point. Regardless of political view, the nerves of most Americans are frayed.
Is there an answer? What can we do when everything seems so out of control?
Are you one of the millions privately screaming, “How long O Lord? “
If you are, then prayer is likely a priority. Pray for peace. Pray for justice. Pray for God to hear our prayers and heal our land.
Regardless of what side of the political aisle we find ourselves, we are afraid.
Afraid that the nation will make the wrong choice. That “they” will be in control and the nation will be lost.
Consider this. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
If God’s people earnestly pray, “May Your kingdom come, and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”, then we are doing what we can. What we must.
That does not mean we can pray and forget. No, we must, ‘pray without ceasing’.
Pray our nation finds favor with God. Pray protection over our leaders. Pray for peace in the streets. Pray that innocent life is not taken by angry mobs, or by thugs, thieves, or killers.
Pray that wickedness, wherever found, be rooted out. Pray for righteousness.
Pray that leaders will take a firm stand against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Pray that China is held accountable for the wanted killing of more than one hundred thousand Americans, and multiple thousands more around the world.
Pray that there is courage to do what is right to restore peace to our country. That violence ends and righteousness prevails.
That does not mean we have no other role. That does not mean we have no influence to end the violence. To stop the craziness that wants to swallow up civil society.
Those with the passion to advocate for a certain electoral outcome, are encouraged to do just that
If you have cried out, “How Long O Lord?” Take heart.
David cried out to God for help in Psalms 13. When he did, he found God waiting for him. He cried out “How Long, O Lord?” He was also able to say, “But I have trusted in Your mercy.”
So it is true today. God is in charge, He has a plan. So we say, “Not my will, but Thy will be done.”
How long O Lord – Remember Proverbs: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.”
