Saturday, September 26, 2020. The day the next Great Awakening began. It started on the mall between the Capitol and the Washington Monument in Washington DC.
A revival in America and around the Globe has started
The outpouring of The Holy Spirit was obvious to the believers who attended the event, in person or online.
What event you ask? The Return, A national and global day of prayer, repentance, and return.
Malachi 3:7 tells us ‘Return to Me and I will return to you’.
The really exciting part of the call to prayer is not limited to ‘The Return’. The twelve-hours of prayer and repentance saw crossover attendance from fifty thousand Christians who attended Franklin Graham’s 2020 Prayer march. Both events were on the Washington Mall.
The country is in trouble.
Set aside for only a moment the horrible pandemic that has taken more than 200,000 American lives. A plague that has destroyed lives has also wreaked havoc on the economy and the businesses of thousands of hard-working Americans.
Also set aside the riots and chaos in our cities. Anarchists are destroying what’s ever left after the Chinese virus. They use a thin veil of racial justice for their motive. Evil is attempting to bring down a nation.
Could all this be God’s judgment on our country? Are these the Judgments of God? Is God calling us to repent and return to Him before it’s too late?
It is easy to believe that God is judging America. The Harbinger, a NY Times best-seller by Jonathan Cahn describes the warning of 9/11. God has been telling us that His mercy will be lifted if we don’t return to Him.
Sin is one of those words nobody wants to hear. It’s judgemental. It calls us out for our bad behavior.
God is calling out our nation. The United States has sinned greatly. The wickedness has become normal. God’s blessing will not continue if we don’t change. If we don’t turn back to Him.
What is normal for us? What has become acceptable to our nation are the sins of abortion, sexual immorality of every description, greed, and corruption. God has been removed from our schools, and now the children have grown up. They don’t know God.
Family is no longer valued. Unmarried couples are having children with no thought of being a family. Nothing is off-limits. We have become our own god and do what is acceptable in our own eyes.
All of it is an abomination to God.
For twelve hours, believers honoring the Lord, gathered in repentance. Thousands in Washington, and millions online, pleaded with God to forgive our land. The prayer for revival was dominant and a move of God was heard.
‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ II Chronicles 7:14.
The prayers included asking God to move in the hearts of leaders. Christians prayed that those wishing to serve God will do what is right. They prayed that those people will be the ones elected in November.
There was a plea that those who serve in the Capitol building, which was in clear view of those praying, would repent for our national sins.
‘God raises up and takes down kings‘. In The United States, that refers to the President. The prayer is that God’s will be done. God is sovereign and His will shall be done. Be it a blessing or a judgment,
The believers prayed that God would not judge the nation for its sin. The prayers of repentance and the desire to return to Him were lifted up.
‘Have mercy on us O Lord.’
