It’s a Spiritual Thing

God has something to say about the election!

I have had the privilege of being on the live stream of a prayer Zoom call. It is known as the Global Prayer for U.S. Election Integrity.

There have been nine such prayer calls since November 3rd. I have been to seven live and watched the replay of the other two. You want to see prayer, join one on Facebook live. It is hard for me to think that God is not in charge.

In contemporary America however, it appears harder to grasp the idea of God is real… let alone in charge.

There seems to be a disproportionate number of people who believe in God, but don’t believe He is sovereign. For many, it’s like a horoscope. Fun to think about, but you don’t think it’s real. Really real…true.

I’m a Christian. I believe God is real, alive, and in charge. He is Sovereign. I believe that Jesus is exactly who He said he is. I had plans to say why I believe but none of us have the time right now.

(You could read my new novel)

When the realization of a living, loving God finally gets into your being, the idea of God having an interest in the election becomes believable. If that’s not you, then sit back and watch. There will be a lot to see, and soon.

If you agree with me, join one of the prayer live streams. If it is God’s will that President Trump is reelected, that’s what will happen. Even if all the signs say different, God will do what God wants to do.

When it happens, you’ll be moved and this article will make sense.

Why should God care?

Why did God care when Israel was up against the Red Sea and Pharoh was coming for them?

The answer is simple. It showed His promise to Israel was real and His mercy was great. He kept His word. But it also showed His power. He was glorified by what He did. Who else could part the Red Sea?

God has a covenant with America. It began in 1620 with the Mayflower compact. It was reaffirmed with the Declaration of Independence, and the United States Constitution.

America has strayed from her part of the agreement, but God has not. Not yet. His mercy is more than we deserve.

It became even more real to me after the pandemic hit. My wife and I read some things we may not normally have taken the time to read. Eric Metaxas has three great books. Jonathan Cahn has three as well.

It’s odd in a good way, but the books got us thinking of just what God is doing in America at this moment. During the pandemic. Then came The Return. Coupled with that was the idea of God shaking the nation. A spiritual earthquake so to speak may be on the way. The anarchist in the streets may be a beginning. God will not be mocked by godless Marxists burning the nation.

Or, is it a judgment? Is God already judging America?

The Return, a National And Global Day Of Prayer And Repentance, was announced to be held in Washington DC on September 26th. I spent the entire day with the live stream from the national mall. The prayer for revival is real and a new great awakening is coming. More than 250 million people worldwide took part online. It became a forerunner of the prayers for election integrity.

Yes, we’re back to the election. What is God doing?

The short answer is a lot.

America is on the edge of judgment. If the sins of the nation are not fixed, if there is no repentance and America does not return to living the way God desires, the nation will be lost.

It happened to Israel when God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to conquer them.

The election is about such a return. The President has confirmed his desire to stop the sin that is grieving God. While imperfect, Trump wants to do what is right in the sight of God. End abortion, turn away from sexual immorality, stop corruption, restore the family.

The evidence seems to suggest that Trump had the most votes, but that Biden, using a corrupted computer system and massive ballot fraud, is claiming victory.

The prayer group does not pray so much for Trump as it does for integrity in the election. That God’s will be done, including allowing the truth to be known, and fraud to be exposed.

Can the outcome favor President Trump? If God stands for truth, then absolutely. If corruption actually occurred in a vote steal, absolutely. If the constitution is followed, absolutely.

But Biden is already the President-elect. Right? Not so fast. There is an interesting event in the Bible. 1 Kings 1 tells the history of King David’s son Adonijah. As king David drew close to death, Adonijah declared himself king of the nation. Adonijah was celebrating, welcoming all the accolades and congratulations of those who would serve him.

David heard about it and had his choice of King anointed and seated on the throne even while Adonijah celebrated. Solomon served as king of Israel and he spared the life of Adonijah in spite of his treason.

Another piece of Biblical history continues to come up at the prayer meetings. King David was fighting the Philistines. While away, the Amalekites raided Ziklag, where David lived, and plundered it, and took all the women and children captive.

God honored David when he prayed. David asked God, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”

The story in 1 Samuel 30 tells how David pursued the raiding party. How he caught up to them and that he fought them. David prevailed. What’s significant is king David recovered everything taken by the Amalekites.

As we pray for the election, there is much to ask regarding what God will ultimately do. If the history of God and the Bible is any consolation, I think it will be a lot.

There is much going on. The corruption is real, the fraud is real. The correlation between Biden and Adonijah is not a coincidence.

The Amalekites tried to steal all that King David had, the steal would have cost the king his kingdom, but God showed up and the steal was reversed. David recovered everything. Another coincidence?

Remember what happen to the raiding, stealing, Amalekites. They lost. Many were destroyed. A remnant was allowed to escape.

Is this election a spiritual thing? We will all know very soon. There are those much wiser than me suggesting the outcome will shock many. The shaking by God may be far more than unbelievers think possible.

I am not a true student of scripture. I read the bible and I understand much of what I read. Many suggest that God is predictable. We know He keeps His word. The history of the Israelites is a good place to go if you’re looking for hints of things to come.

If God believes that America should fall under the weight of its own sin, and withdraw His mercy, that His grace should not be shed on America, the election will become the least of our troubles.
