The Inauguration of 2021-What To Expect

As I write this, the inauguration is still 24 hours away. What is sure to happen? Will, what I pray happen? What is likely to happen? All require different answers.

There is but one truth. God knows the answer, and He won’t be surprised.

If it goes as most expect, we are in for some very trying times. The days ahead could make 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic look like choir practice. It can end up as Tom Clancy said, The Sum of All Fears.

Three Novels

Over the past 20 years, I have written three novels. The first is in the broad genre of Christian Fiction. It is focused on a corrupt government willing to make alliances with anyone if it meant a payday for the politicians.

There is an evil, foreign, crime boss willing to use his connections to destroy America. The politicians seem not to care. They are completely ignorant of the threat in which they willingly take part.

In the novel, the crime boss believes he is the heir to Adolph Hitler. He is actually the embodiment (the spirit) of the antichrist.

The other two novels are in the more specific genre of Spiritual Warfare. Both deal with men suddenly, and without any understanding of evil, are pitted in a fight against that very evil.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”   Ephesians 6:12

What does it mean for today?

It means we must pray. It means that man is blind to the powers of darkness. It means that politicians have fallen for:  “the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things…” (Mark 4:19)

I had an interesting discussion with a dear friend this week. He is concerned that the sign of the times is leading to the “last days” and the eventual rapture of the church.

My position is that God is about to do something mighty. Something so big that only God will get the credit. It will lead to a ‘Great Awakening’ and worldwide revival.

It is my prayer that a billion souls will come to faith in Christ. A billion people escaping eternal judgment.

As my friend and I agree, we don’t know which way this is going to go. We must continue to embarrass Matthew 6. Particularly verse 33 and following. Read it here from the New King James.

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
