America’s Goliath – Will The People Be As David & Trust God

David and Goliath. A story we all know. We know it’s not just a story. It’s a true historical event. It holds the quintessential understanding that God is faithful.

David, a ruddy teenage shepherd boy ran an errand taking lunch to his older brothers fighting on the front line. When he arrived, he saw Goliath. A giant standing nine feet nine inches tall. His armor weighed 125 pounds. The tip of his spear, just the tip, was fifteen pounds. Goliath, a giant in every sense.

Goliath had been taunting the army of King Saul for a week. He cursed and mocked them. He blasphemed the God of Israel.

We know how it ends.

Today there is a giant in the land. Not just one, but many. Big tech, the mainstream media, social media giants, and the money and power of wall street. They are collectively, Goliath.

Goliath is mocking the people of America. The Goliath of the 21st century has told America they can not win. They can not beat him. He, the giant, holds all the power. Goliath makes the rules. Try and fight the giant and you’ll be destroyed. Any views, any priorities, any values, any faith in God different than that of Goliath is banned. America can not stop the giant.

It’s hopeless. Goliath waged a war and won. The war had no rules against cheating or fraud. Goliath’s rules in the war were different from those of America.

Has America Lost?

When David saw Goliath he never considered him unbeatable. David remembered how he killed a bear and a lion with his hands. He knew that the giant could be beaten.

David remembered God. He remembered the value of trusting God. He knew that God would deliver the giant to him. He only needed to trust God, do what he had trained to do, and Goliath would be his. God was with him.

As America approaches the last days of contending the results of the presidential election, she needs to remember her history. America must remember that it was God who led a new nation through a war of overwhelming odds. Unwinnable. Yet America emerged a new nation.

God purposed that David would defeat Goliath. God purposed that America would defeat the British.

David did his part in confronting Goliath. George Washington and his beleaguered band of fighters did their part. The victory was granted.

Does God want America to survive?

Should the giant succeed in taking control of America, the republic will cease to exist as we know it. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will be only a memory. Goliath has said as much.

America must do its part in taking on the 21st century Goliath. And she is. There are people working hard. Lawyers fighting to find justice. Citizens calling on officials to do their jobs, and patriots praying. Goliath is big, scary, intimidating. It’s hard work standing up to giants.

David did it, George Washington did it, now it’s Donald Trump’s turn. He is up to the fight. Like Washington, he has an army. His is 75 million beleaguered patriots standing and fighting with him. The number praying is broad, wide, and tireless.

Will America slay her Goliath?

Finding faith in times like this is hard. It doesn’t happen overnight, yet it happens. God honors faith whether it’s new and struggling, or it’s old and dependable. Regardless of where you are on the spectrum, America needs your prayers. America needs everyone to ask God to save our country.

Some say only a miracle will rescue the country from being taken over by giants. Giants with an agenda totally foreign to what most Americans have and wish to keep.

Miracles are not reserved for Israel in the 11th century BC, or for Valley Forge in the 18th century AD.

In June of 1967 Israel was preparing to defend herself against three giants. Syria, Jordan, and Egypt, prodded by Russia, marshaled a massive military force. The giant would destroy the smaller Israel. The giants had more men, more tanks, more planes, and more bombs. They had Israel surrounded.

Israel had the same weapon David had. Israel had God on their side.

The details are available for those wishing to look. Israel, like David, knew the giant could be slain. And so, with a miracle from God, Israel defeated the superior forces of Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. They captured land and restored their capital. It was a miracle known as the Six-Day War.

In case you’re wondering, the United States refused to help. The giant was too big and America wanted nothing to do with the fight.

Do you believe in miracles?

Now America needs a miracle. There are plenty of places such a thing could come from. All would in fact be miracles in the eyes of most people.

One option is for politicians to find the courage and do their job. The fraud is so obvious that most nations of the world can’t believe what they are seeing.

Another possibility is the courts. Will judges or justices find the will to do what’s right? Will they do what they were chosen to do? Will they uphold their oath and uphold the constitution? Time will tell.

The last option, and probably the best option is for God to move supernaturally. How that might look is anyone’s guess. There are some who have spiritual incite in what will happen. When God moves, it will be the answer to the prayers of millions of believers who trust in His sovereign power and will.
