Christ – Covid and Redemption

The CoronaVirus pandemic has opened an ugly scab on the face of America. The United States has openly defied the biblical truths of God for decades.

When the pandemic arrived, the true values of the country were exposed. The nation has turned away from God as a foundation. The pandemic exposed America. Her sin is great. Honor to God, obeying His commandments are not a priority – if even important.

When churches are closed as non essential, and liquor stores and pot shops remain open, America is sticking a finger in the eye of God.

God is not mocked. (Galatians 6:7)

There is much about the virus that is not understood. Some suggest that it is a curse from God. A judgement. Biblical pestilence is seen many times in scripture.

Why would God judge a nation?

America kills 45.6 million babies by abortion every year. One perspective says that abortion deaths are more than 200 times those of Covid-19. With such numbers, why would God not judge America?

Many experts believe that with few exceptions, children are safe in the classroom. Not returning to school puts children at risk. The greater risk is not being in class.

Is there a dark cloud over the education system? America has seen fit to kick God out of the schools.  Perhaps this is a way of showing America that our children not only need school, they need God.

Watch this video of John MacArthur, pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California for a perspective of God in America.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, a messianic Rabbi, and best selling author is spearheading a Global and National day of prayer and repentance. Rabbi Cahn says, “The Return is a movement, an appointed time, and a specific day set apart for one purpose – the return to God by coming before His presence in humility, in sincerity in prayer, and repentance.”

Full details of the event are available at the website TheReturn.org. It is a ten day time of prayer beginning on September 18th and continuing until September 28, 2020.

Consider Christ, Covid, and Redemption. It seems like prayer on a national and global scale is a reasonable idea starting now.

For if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14
