This Christmas I stumbled across a short article by the late Chuck Colson. In a Breakpoint piece, from 1997, Colson writes of how good triumphs over evil when believers defend the truth.
The year now ending seems to have cast off all truth in favor of greed, the pulling down of freedom, and the quest for absolute power. The pandemic has proven that power over people is more important than the truth of risks and safety. Using fear, and abandoning all truth, the powerful have shown how fragile freedom can be.
The election of November 3rd demonstrates how far many are willing to go to control the people. The fraud is so obvious that many nations of the world are expressing shock that the beacon of freedom they aspire to emulate is so blind to the truth. America has lost her way and seems not to care.
The article talks about the presence of evil. It relates the story of a gentle Polish pastor relentlessly preaching a message of good over evil while under the boot of the communists who occupied his nation.
It took little effort to grasp the plight of the Polish people being ruled by godless communists. A form of government that shows no value to human life. The torture and death of the pastor mentioned in Colson’s piece makes the poignant point that there is evil in the world.
Good vs Evil
I thought it is important to point out the fight of the Polish people to overcome communism, while in The United States, so many seem ready to accept the communists. It will of course mean the loss of freedom for which we are the envy of the world.
America has always been a beacon of truth. America was founded on the principle that good will triumph over evil when people know the truth.
In this present day, the truth is being hidden. Forces of evil, knowing the truth refuse to confront it. Their purpose appears evil.
As Chuck Colson reminds us, Truth is the equalizer in our fight. Expose the lies and the truth will come out. Good will triumph over evil when the people are ready to defend the truth.
We get there with prayer. The gentle polish pastor preached it, we must heed the message and pray that God will expose the fraud and the lies, the evil that is in our midst.
The seemingly all too obvious fact is, however, those who want the truth to stay hidden is a much bigger group of powerful people than most want to admit.
You are so right. I am praying and believing that the truth will be exposed and believe that God’s good plan will prevail. Evil only has limited power, but our Heavenly Father has all power. We have a website where we are trying to defend the truth and get the truth out.
